Lisa Lawrence

Director of Human Resources

Position Overview:

Ms. Lawrence serves as the Human Resources Director for NEMS. She is responsible for providing multi-operational employee relations and HR oversight and development for all NEMS operations. She advises management staff in employee relations. She works with all locations in recruitment and retention strategies. 


She joined NorthStar in 2006 as their Human Resources Director and has been engaged in administrative management since 1993.

Training and Education:

 Ms. Lawrence attended Shelton State Community College with a focus on Accounting and English.  She is a member of Tuscaloosa Human Resources Professionals and Society for Human Resource Management and continues her education through these organizations. Certification in ADP Payroll; NEMS Supervisory/Management.

Human Resources Summary

NorthStar's Human Resources department believes that our Team Members are our greatest resource and as such is focused on creating a positive work environment focused on personal success!  HR is responsible for the planning, implementation and coordination of payroll related programs and services that includes the administration of the Standard Operating Procedures, all company sponsored, voluntary employee and government mandated benefits, maintenance of personnel and payroll files, new employee orientation and all aspects of employee compensation.

HR is involved in all aspects of attracting and retaining talented EMS providers.  Additionally, HR provides counsel on HR related matters regarding Team Members to ensure adherence to local, state and federal laws as well as NorthStar's Standard Operating Procedures.
