Director of Human Resources
Position Overview:
As Human Resources Director, Ms. Oppenheimer is responsible for HR oversight, employee relations, and organizational development across all NEMS operations. She partners with management and regional locations to develop effective recruitment and retention strategies, ensuring a consistent and supportive work environment throughout the organization.
Experience:
Mrs. Oppenheimer began her career with NorthStar EMS in 2013, bringing dedication and versatility that has allowed her to grow significantly within the organization. Over the course of her tenure, she has held multiple roles of increasing responsibility, including serving as Interim Director of Communications — a position that reflects her broad organizational knowledge and ability to lead across departments. In 2025, she transitioned into her current role as Human Resources Director, where she continues to build on her deep familiarity with the company's culture, people, and operations.
Education:
Mrs. Oppenheimer attended The University of Alabama, where she focused her studies in Human Environmental Sciences. She is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), through which she remains committed to ongoing professional development and staying current with the latest trends and best practices in human resources management.

Human Resources Summary
NorthStar's Human Resources department believes that our Team Members are our greatest resource and as such is focused on creating a positive work environment focused on personal success! HR is responsible for the planning, implementation and coordination of payroll related programs and services that includes the administration of the Standard Operating Procedures, all company sponsored, voluntary employee and government mandated benefits, maintenance of personnel and payroll files, new employee orientation and all aspects of employee compensation.
HR is involved in all aspects of attracting and retaining talented EMS providers. Additionally, HR provides counsel on HR related matters regarding Team Members to ensure adherence to local, state and federal laws as well as NorthStar's Standard Operating Procedures.
