NORTHSTAR BENEFITS FOR FULL TIME EMPLOYEES

 

  • Blue Cross/Blue Shield Medical and Dental Insurance

    • This benefit is fully paid by NorthStar for full time eligible employees.

 

  • Employees who participate in NorthStar’s insurance program are eligible to add dependents to their coverage at the time of enrollment.  NorthStar offers a three-tier plan so you can customize your insurance for the dependent coverage you need.  Premiums will be payroll deducted for dependent coverage.

 

  •  Guardian Life Insurance

    • $25,000.00 in life insurance is fully paid by NorthStar. 

 

  • Additional life insurance for employees and their dependents can be purchased at very reasonable rates.

 

  • Superior Vision Insurance

    • NorthStar offers a four-tier plan so you can customize your insurance for the coverage you need for yourself and your dependents.

 

  • Colonial Supplemental Insurance

    • This plan includes a variety of supplemental coverage such as disability, accident, cancer, critical illness, etc.  Upon eligibility, a representative will contact you directly to present your options and discuss your individual needs.  This plan is payroll deducted by NorthStar. 

 

  • PTO

    • Paid Time Off accrues every payday and may be taken as it is accrued. PTO time accrues based on a multiple of your type of shift (8/10/12/16/24 or 40/week for office personnel), the number of hours you actually worked and years of service. PTO may be banked for up to 250 hours

 

  • 401K Retirement Program

    • NorthStar’s Retirement Plan in available to all employees, full time and part-time, who are 21 years of age, have one year of service and have worked at least 1,000 hours during the year.  Employees who meet these requirements are eligible to enroll in the 401K plan during the open enrollment months, (January or June) following their anniversary date of hire. The plan is funded through John Hancock and meets all requirements of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974.

 

  • Tuition Assistance for Advanced Basic and Paramedic Training
