John Godwin

Director of Information Technology

Position Overview:

Responsible for the development, supervision, and deployment of all technology assets within the company. Serves as primary internal and external contact for all IT and Telecommunications systems and is responsible for ensuring that all systems operate at peak efficiency. Mr. Godwin is also responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of NorthStar data assets across multiple office locations and co-location facilities in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Experience:

Mr. Godwin has been working with NorthStar EMS since 1995, first as a consultant and now as the IT Director.  During his time as a consultant, he has integrated WAN across the fifty states and the world.  He has deployed complex VMWare failover clusters, SQL Server, MS Exchange Environments, and managed large staffs.  He has worked with the private sector, education sector, local government, and state government. 

Training and Education:

Mr. Godwin graduated from Samford University in 1995 with a BA in International Relations and History.  He has numerous industry certifications with Microsoft, Intel, VMWare, Veeam, HP, and Dell. He has taught COMP TIA Certification classes at the US Steel Career Development Program since 2001.  He has also completed the Executive Courses from the Michael Gerber E-Myth Program.

Information Technology Summary

Any organization is only as effective as the information it processes and acts upon. The Information Services Department is committed to providing network assets, telecommunications, and decision-support tools and expertise to NorthStar EMS. Information Services staff are available around the clock to provide technical support services to all NEMS employees and division as well as provide assistance and guidance in selecting new software systems, provide training, and develop internal products for NEMS' use.

EMS is a 24/7/365 endeavor and the Information Services Department stands ready to support NEMS' mission with prompt, professional, and accurate support day or night.
