Tony Smelley

CEO

Position Overview:

Mr. Smelley is responsible for running all facets of the organization. He has a proven executive management track record as a President and CEO since starting NorthStar EMS in 1992.  He ensures that fiscal practices and operational policies are sound and directed toward the continuous quality management of the company.

Experience:

Mr. Smelley started his career in EMS in 1986 as a field medic. He has served in his role as President of NEMS since 1992.

Training and Education:

Mr. Smelley completed his Paramedic training while attending the University of Alabama. He graduated the University of Alabama in 1989.

Administration

This Department is responsible for directing the company in keeping with the Vision, Mission Statement and Core Values of NorthStar EMS.  This Department provides oversight for all quality control throughout the company and works closely with company Directors and Managers to:

  • Operate as the central link between departments and operations.

  • Establish short and long term strategic plans.

  • Prepare annual budgets and complete risk analysis on potential investments.

  • Monitor hiring practices, payroll and benefit disbursement.

  • Work with operations to grow the company, strengthen it, and ensure sustainability.
